FLIPPIN, Ark. – Entergy crews are working to replace a damaged power pole and transformer off of Highway 178 this afternoon.
According to the company’s spokesperson Mark Martin, about 26-hundred people are without power. They say the power will be off from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. due to a defective piece of equipment that caused the power to trip. The outage spread from Flippin to east of Cottter.
Martin says in order for them to do the work safely, the line has to stay de-energized. Authorities with the Flippin Fire and Police Departments are on scene assisting with traffic on northbound Highway 178.
Officials are still advising drivers to take caution, as they are fixing the transformer.
