REEDS SPRING, Mo. – A couple from Reeds Spring is charged with involuntary manslaughter, child abuse and child endangerment in the death of their infant son back in January.
Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader reports charges were filed Friday by Prosecutor Matt Selby following a nearly three-month-long joint investigation by his office, the Reeds Spring Police Department and the Missouri Division of Family Services.
Thirty-eight-year-old Joshua Jackson and 33-year-old Bambi Jackson are incarcerated on 75-thousand dollars bond apiece.
Emergency responders were called to their home at 220 Micahs Crossing, near the Reeds Spring Schools, on Tuesday, January 5th. Medical personnel were unable to revive the 13-month-old child, who wasn’t breathing.
According to an autopsy report, the cause of death is determined to be low blood pressure due to dehydration. The boy reportedly weighed just over 10 pounds.
Since the time of his death, at least two other children of the home have been taken into protective custody by the state.
Joshua and Bambi Jackson were booked in the Stone County Jail on Friday. Their initial court appearances have not yet been scheduled.
