HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – A group of squirrels are to blame for the lockdown of a Hot Springs elementary school earlier this week.
According to a release from the local police department, it got a call at about 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday with a report of armed men running in the direction of the school. However, when officers arrived on scene, they determined the caller must have been referring to three exterminators, who were eradicating squirrels with pellet guns from a nearby apartment complex.
Authorities say the school was on lockdown for just over an hour, so police could be sure there was no danger.
