HOLLISTER, Mo. – No injuries are reported in an altercation involving gunshots Wednesday night in Hollister.
Chief Preston Schmidt says just before 9:30 p.m., Hollister Police along with Taney County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 708 Ford Shore Acres on a report of gunshots being fired. He says after a brief stand-off, officers were able to talk a suspect out of the residence, without incident.
A subsequent search of the home produced a .25 caliber pistol. Schmidt says investigation revealed that two 30-year-old men became engaged in an argument over a 38-year-old woman, and at some point during the altercation, the pistol was produced and shots were fired.
No charges have been filed as of this (Thursday) afternoon.
During investigation of the incident, Schmidt says Cory Jones of Hollister was arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Greene County – one for domestic assault and the other for endangering the welfare of a child. He says Jones is now in the custody of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
