HARRISON, Ark. – Harrison City Council is waiting to hear back about the community pool’s future. Shannon Cay has this report.
At the most recent Harrison City council meeting, maintenance supervisor Jerry Farmer reported that the construction company who built the pool is estimating fixing it would cost more than a 100-thousand dollars.
Recently, it was discovered that the liner to the pool had come apart, as well as a few cracks growing at the pools water feature and a base pipe.
Council members say they have about 10-thousand dollars to spend on the project, but are looking to fund the repair of the Youth Center Pool through grant monies.
Harrison Mayor Dan Sherrell says it will be a race to have the problem solved by a summertime pool opening.
