REPUBLIC, Mo. – A Willard teenager is arrested following a police pursuit early Saturday morning in Republic.
The Republic Police Department reports the pursuit began at approximately 1:30 a.m., when 18-year-old Keith Roberson failed to stop for a speeding violation along U-S 60.
Roberson attempted to elude officers by driving into a residential neighborhood, where he crashed and spun his vehicle around. He then drove his vehicle directly towards and then onto the hood of a Republic Police Patrol vehicle.
Roberson then led officers onto U-S 60, where he drove across the median and began driving into oncoming traffic. He finally gave into the pursuit and pulled onto the shoulder of the road after losing both of the left side tires on his pickup.
Roberson was arrested and charged with DWI and 2nd degree assault on a police officer. A female passenger in Roberson’s vehicle was released at the scene. No one was seriously during the pursuit.
