Police to Purchase Body Cameras, Patrol Vehicles

by Sam Clanton

BRANSON, Mo. – The Branson Police Department will soon purchase 10 additional body-worn cameras, allowing each officer assigned to patrol duty to be issued their own device.

Police Chief Kent Crutcher says video footage produced by the cameras assists with prosecution, and also helps the department keep track of officer activity…

The department is also purchasing two more in-car cameras, for a total cost of approximately 30-thousand dollars.

In addition to the cameras, the police department is entering into an agreement for the purchase of four new Dodge Chargers as part of its annual vehicle replacement contract. The total cost is 105-thousand dollars.
