BRANSON, Mo. – Cox Medical Center Branson is recognized with the Excellence in Eye Donation Award by Saving Sight, one of the largest eye banks in country.

A special ceremony was held Friday morning in the CoxHealth Outpatient Center Lobby, where Saving Sight Chief Technical Officer Shelly Rasley  presented the award to Cox Medical Center Branson CEO William Mahoney:

 

 

Each year around 48-thousand individuals in the U-S require a cornea transplant to restore vision to someone who has lost their sight due to disease, disorder or injury.

In 2015 Cox Branson helped to facilitate 23 eye donation cases, which resulted in 22 individuals receiving restored sight through a cornea transplant. More information on Saving Sight can be found here.
