OZARK, Mo. – An Ozark teenager is sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in a September 2015 crime spree in Stone County.
Stone County Prosecutor Matt Selby reports 18-year-old Wesley Dill pled guilty to felony charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer, tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and possessing methamphetamine.
On September 19, 2015, Stone County Deputy Dakota Dowell attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Dill on Missouri Highway 13, near DD. A chase ensued and eventually lead to a dead end on Stone Ridge Center Road.
Trapped at the end of the road, Dill reversed his vehicle and struck Dowell, who was approaching the vehicle on foot.
The vehicle wrecked a short distance down the road and the occupants fled on foot before being apprehended. Methamphetamine was found inside the vehicle, which was also determined to have been stolen out of another county.
