DOUGLAS COUNTY, Mo. – Douglas County government receives an overall performance rating of “poor” by Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway on Thursday.
The report includes findings of delayed payments to crime victims by the prosecuting attorney and a lack of documentation for purchases and payment made by the public administrator.
Galloway says her office has identified similar issues in past audits of Douglas County. She adds it’s frustrating when they have to identify the same issues seen in past audits, especially when they have made previous recommendations to better serve citizens.
Because of the “poor” rating, auditors will return later this year to perform a follow-up review. The complete audit report can be found here.
