MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – A high-risk sex offender from Gassville is back in jail, after failing to tell authorities he had moved out of the county.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the office was given two separate tips earlier this month about 45-year-old Eddie Patteson. Authorities say the tipperster told them he wasn’t living at 64 County Road 889, where he was registered, and now was living in Springdale.
When investigators with the department spoke with Patteson, he claimed the tips were unfounded because he says he was simply visiting the Springdale area for several days. However, investigators were able to determine that he had not lived in his Baxter County home since January.
Montgomery says on Tuesday, Patteson was arrested, transported to the Baxter County Detention Center, and is being held with a 15-thousand dollar bond.
