Stone County Seeking Southern Road Commissioner

GALENA, Mo. – Stone County is looking for a new Southern District Road Commissioner with the recent passing of Stan Potter.

Wood says two years remain in Potter’s current term in office, and he encourages anyone interested in filling the vacancy to file for the upcoming August Primary, prior to March 29th

 

 

Wood points out that Southern District Road Commissioner is an unpaid, volunteer position, with a small stipend for expenses.

According to Stumpff Funeral Home in Kimberling City, Potter, of Lampe, passed away March 8th at the age of 82.

He lived in Stone County for 27 years, after retiring as an air traffic controller in Kansas City.

Potter was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He previously served on the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District Board of Directors.
