POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – Twelve Vietnam War Veterans, paired with 12 College of the Ozarks students, travel to Vietnam for two weeks as part of the colleges 20th Patriotic Education Travel Program.

The Cu Chi Tunnels, the Reunification Palace, and the Demilitarized Zone will be just a few of the stops made as the students visit Vietnam destinations, which correspond with the previous battle sites of the Veterans joining them on the trip.

C of O Executive Vice President Dr. Fred Mullinax, who has led the program since its inception in 2008, says his vision for the program was to take as many of the WWII Veterans back to their battle sites as possible.

Students are meeting with tour guide John Dewing and begin their travels in Saigon. Dewing is a Vietnam Veteran with several years of experience leading patriotic tours in Vietnam.

As part of their travels the students enter daily blog entrees. You can follow the students and their Veterans as they travel by clicking here.
