BRANSON, Mo. – The Branson Fire Department held its annual awards banquet February 13, 2016 at the Branson Convention Center. The evening started with a dinner followed by the state of the fire department provided by Fire Chief Ted Martin. Awards were presented to several fire department personnel for their service in 2015.
The top awards included (from left to right) Chris Morgan, Captain of the Year, Josh Boehm, Engineer of the Year, Jason Bruck, Firefighter of the Year, and Colt Boldman, Reserve Firefighter of the Year. The awards were presented by Chief Martin.
In 2015, fire department personnel responded to 4,077 fire rescue incidents, an approximate 7.5% increase over the previous year. “This increase can be directly related to an increase in tourism, building construction, and economic development in the Branson community,” stated Chief Martin. “We are thankful the City continues to support the fire department as safety of the residents and visitors are a priority within our City strategic plan.”
The fire department is also blessed to have a great staff. “They are well trained and are fully involved in their work as fire rescue professionals, they serve in the community as little league coaches, in their church, or volunteer with various school or civic organizations. They are also fully involved with their families as they work around their 24 hour shifts,” added Martin.
