GALENA, Mo. – Sales tax receipts continue an upward trend for Stone County.
According to the latest report from Treasurer Kristi Stephens, March revenues show a month-to-date increase of nearly 9-percent for the half-cent General Use Sales Tax, with receipts of more than 144-thousand dollars.
The half-cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax brings in over 170-thousand dollars, marking an increase of 7-point-3 percent over March of 2015.
The county’s Law Enforcement Sales Tax nets 170-thousand 697 dollars, and also shows an increase of more than 7-percent compared to last year.
This after Stone County closed out 2015 with a combined revenue increase of nearly 12 percent.
