Family Counselor, Author from Branson Dies at Age 75

BRANSON, Mo. – A noted family counselor and Christian author from Branson dies at the age of 75.

According to a news release from Focus on the Family, Dr. Gary Smalley died Sunday from heart complications and kidney disease.

Smalley authored or co-authored more than 60 best-selling and award-winning books, which have sold a combined total of 6-million copies, according to Focus on the Family.

Over his 50-year career, Smalley worked with several television personalities, including Oprah Winfrey and Larry King, and appeared on numerous programs, including Fox & Friends and The Today Show.

He and his wife Norma started Family Heritage Ministries, which later became known as the Smalley Relationship Center.

Memorial services for Dr. Gary Smalley are slated for Saturday, March 19th at College of the Ozarks.
