BAXTER/MARION, Ark. – The newly created judge’s seat, encompassing both Baxter and Marion Counties, will be filled by Judge Jason Duffy.
Currently, both counties have one part time judge. Duffy already presides in Marion County with Judge Van Gearhart in Baxter.
Hometown Daily News spoke with Duffy about the mindset he says he would bring to the newly created position.
Officials in the county say now Judge Duffy will work full time as a State Judge for the 10th district.
The unofficial results on the secretary of state’s website show Duffy had 56 percent of the vote, while his opponent, Mark Cooper came in with 43 percent.
