CASSVILLE, Mo. – After months of catch and release maneuvers, fishermen can now have their trout and eat it too.
All across Missouri, fishermen made their way towards the banks and into the water for the annual March 1st opening of Trout Season on Tuesday.
Missouri Department of Conservation Agent Dan Akin, joined Scott McCaulley on his KRZK Program “At Your Service” and shared there were no lack of fishermen at the Roaring River State Park near Cassville Tuesday morning:
All 2015 fishing permits expired on Monday, so if you haven’t purchased a new permit, Akin say you’ll need to do that before making any plans to fish.
Akin says limits for the season include four trout daily, but through the season a person cannot have more than eight trout in their possession at one time.
The Roaring River State Park is open to fishermen from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, until the time change when it will remain open each day until 7 p.m.
