HOLLISTER, Mo. – A convicted sex offender from Hollister is sentenced to federal prison for receiving child pornography.

Tammy Dickinson, United State Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, says 64-year-old Charles Alexander was sentenced on Tuesday, March 1st, to a total of 20 years in federal prison, without parole, and to a lifetime of supervised release following his incarceration.

Alexander was convicted in the Western District of Texas for interstate transportation of child pornography, for which he was sentenced to 87 months in prison and required to register as a sex offender. He was under current supervision of the U-S Probation Office for subsequently failing to register as a sex offender.

During a routine home visit, a probation officer seized a cell phone from Alexander that contained video and at least 16 images of child pornography that included infants and children.

A laptop computer, a tablet and various other electronic media, which all contained child pornography, were also seized from Alexander’s residence.

A condition of Alexander’s supervised release prohibits him from possessing or using a phone, or any other electronic device that allows Internet access, without permission for the probation officer.
