POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – A College of the Ozarks English Professor presents a concert reading of his new production of Shepherd the Musical.
Written by Dr. Hayden Head, this new musical adaptation of Harold Bell Wright’s classic novel The Shepard of the Hills will re-present the characters and story that created Branson in the early 1900’s. There will be two 7 p.m. performances on March 11th and 12th, at the Gittinger Recital Hall on the C of O campus.
Head joined Steve and Janet in the Morning on KRZK to discuss his work on the musical and the challenges it presented:
For the musical production side of the project, Head is being joined by longtime Silver Dollar City musical director Stan Beard.
The concert reading is not a full-bore production, this reading will essentially serve as a world premiere of the songs and dialogue. The performance is free and open to the public, but due to limited seating reservations are required.
