BERRYVILLE, Ark. – An inmate in the Carroll County Detention Center will spend additional time behind bars, after being convicted of conspiring to bring drugs into the jail.

A press release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Brock Boren plead guilty to 18 felony counts that surround an investigation where deputies found Boren, two women from Carroll County, and three other inmates working together to introduce prescription narcotics to the jail.

In court on Monday, Judge Scott Jackson sentenced him to additional 35 years, with 18 years suspended for his guilty plea.

Court records show the other five people involved in this investigation will be in court intermittently through the month.

Sheriff Randy Mayfield says through the investigation, Boren was found to be the ring leader of the group.
