CASSVILLE, Mo. – A man from Springdale who allegedly shot and killed his child’s mother and grandfather in Barry County appears in court for arraignment.

Thirty-eight-year-old Christopher Paschall pleads not guilty to two-counts of first-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action, and one count of parental kidnapping.

Paschall allegedly took his daughter from her Barry County home last January, after shooting the child’s mother, Casey Brace, and grandfather, Herb Townsend. Brace died at the scene while Townsend died later at a Springfield hospital.

Sheriff Mick Epperly stated at the time that Brace had previously filed complaints about Paschall harassing and stalking her.

SWAT officers arrested Paschall at his home in Springdale shortly after police issued an Amber Alert for his then two-year-old daughter.

Paschall is jailed without bond in Cassville, and is scheduled to return to court April 1st.
