GALENA, Mo. – Nearly a week into the filing period and the Stone County Clerk’s Office reports only six names on its candidates list for the August 2nd Primary Election.
Of the Stone County candidates, only two so far find themselves in a contested race. Incumbent Jerry Dodd and Herald W. Smythe are both in the race for Southern District Commissioner.
At this time all of the remaining candidates find themselves running unopposed and for re-election. Mark Maples is seeking re-election as Northern District Commissioner. Brad Hudson files again for Assessor, as does Doug Rader for Sheriff.
Glenda “Wendy” Metcalf is also pursuing her current seat as Public Administrator.
The candidate filing period began on Monday and ends on Tuesday, March 29th at 5 p.m.
