BOONE/ CARROLL – Recent rain and snow mixtures across the area has allowed both Carroll and Boone County to lift the ban on open burning.
Officials had issued burn bans over the last two weeks due to low humidity and high winds in the central north Arkansas area. Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway and Carroll County Judge Sam Barr have determined the fire hazardous has been reduced.
However, officials with both counties are still urging people who do plan burning this week to report it beforehand to their local fire department and to use extreme caution.
