ROCKAWAY BEACH, Mo. – A public meeting between local officials and the US Army Corps of Engineers, originally set to take place last month, is rescheduled for Wednesday, February 24th, in Rockaway Beach.
Don Smith, Mayor of Rockaway Beach, says this meeting is a chance for officials and the public to address the problems being presented by Lake Taneycomo every time it floods:
Missouri State Representative Jeff Justus, Taney County Emergency Management Director Chris Berndt, and the mayors of Branson, Hollister and Forsyth have all been invited and are expected to attend this meeting.
The session begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Rockaway Beach Community Center, located at 27-62 State Highway 176. The public is also invited to attend.
