POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes First Place! Coordinator Gina Crump as its featured speaker during its Branson Business Connection Luncheon Friday afternoon.
The First Place! character education initiative, formed in 2006, is a special partnership among The Keeter Center for Character Education at College of the Ozarks and organizations, businesses, and individuals. Through this program, area school districts focus on implementing one particular character trait per month throughout the school year.
Crump says the organization is now expanding its horizons and is going to be refining its focus on leadership:
Crump says by applying these initiative each year, school districts look to improve school climate to positively impact achievement, attendance, discipline, and dropout rate, cultivate visible community support and increase parent participation and awareness in character development.
