BRANSON, Mo. – A dog stuck in a drainage pipe is safely returned to his family, following the quick actions of crews with the Western Taney County Fire Protection District.

At approximately 8:20 Saturday morning, crews were dispatched to Rosewood Lane in Branson. Upon arrival units from Station 7 and Station 10 meet the Davis Family who reported their dog, a German Shorthair named Trey, had been trapped in a drainage pipe since the following night.

Crews located Trey twenty feet into a 60 foot pipe that was twelve inches in diameter. Crews made the decision to dig into the ground above the pipe and use their “Jaws of Life” to cut through the pipe to rescue Trey.

Once about two feet of dirt was removed, the pipe was cut open and Trey was pulled backwards and eventually removed from the pipe. Trey was removed with a few minor scratches, but otherwise uninjured.

Video of Trey the Dog’s extraction from the pipe can be found here.
