February 26 @ 7:00 pm
St John’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall
707 W. Central Harrison, AR
The Boone County Library is pleased to present Still on the Hill, the award winning duo of Kelly and Donna Mulhollan, in concert and for a book signing for True Faith, True Light: The Devotional Art of Ed Stilley, written by Kelly Mulhollan and published by the University of Arkansas Press in 2015. In 1979 Ed Stilley, from Hogscald Holler in Carroll County, Arkansas had a religious experience with the result that he vowed to make musical instruments and give them to children. For over twenty-five years, using simple tools and unusual found objects, he created over two hundred guitars, fiddles and dulcimers. On each one he inscribed, “True Faith, True Light, Have Faith in God”. According to Mulhollan, the “book documents Ed Stilley’s life and work, giving us a glimpse into the singular life of austere devotion”. The program is paid for in part by a grant provided by the Arkansas Arts Council.
