Brush Fire Kept Away from Home but Destroys Boat

by Sam Clanton

CAPE FAIR, Mo. – Natural cover fires continue to cause problems as dry, windy conditions persist over the weekend.

Saturday afternoon Southern Stone County firefighters extinguished a blaze in front of a home on Pebbles Point Road in the Cape Fair area. Crews kept the fire away from the residence, but not before flames engulfed a bass boat parked in the driveway.

Public Information Officer Eric Nielsen responded to the scene and spoke with the homeowner…

Western Taney County Fire Protection District also responded to several reports of grass fires and smoke in the area on Saturday.

Firefighters continue to discourage outdoor burning until weather conditions change.
