Vendors Check Inventory After Theft Investigation

by Shannon Cay

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – Local Flea market vendors are double checking their inventory, after police say a man from Mountain Home stole the cash from the items he sold or auctioned.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department, 41-year-old Robert Holder is looking at three felony counts of property theft in regard to his business, Rob’s Auction Service in Gassville. Authorities say they got three separate reports that Holder had sold property though his auction belonging to private individuals and failed or refused to pay them the proceeds.

Sheriff John Montgomery says additionally, the vendors at Rob’s Auction Service should be making sure that Holder has not sold anything of theirs without payment. He says if something is missing, they should contact the sheriff’s department.

Holder post his bond of 15-thousand dollars on Thursday.
