FORSYTH, Mo. – The Taney County Coroner will get a pay raise beginning next year.
Commissioners decided this week to increase the coroner’s annual salary from 16-thousand dollars to 25-thousand dollars, bringing the county in line with other first-class counties in the state, specifically Jasper County, which the commission based its numbers on.
Eastern District Commissioner Danny Strahan made the motion…
Commissioners unanimously approved the motion, which includes a furnished vehicle, after hearing evidence that the coroner’s office has seen a significant workload increase over the last few years.
Kevin Tweedy has served as coroner for more than 8 years. The coroner’s position is up for election this year.
