EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. – An iconic building in Eureka Springs is added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The Crescent Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in the downtown area, according to a release from the Department of Arkansas Heritage.
A spokesperson for the group, Mark Christ, says the hotel was built in 1886 by a man who is best known for his leadership in the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, Isaac Taylor from St. Louis.
The Arkansas Heritage agency is responsible for identifying evaluating, registering, and preserving the state’s cultural resources.
