YELLVILLE, Ark. – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is inviting citizens to take a tour of the current jail facility, tomorrow and Saturday.
According to the office, Authorities will be at the jail for anyone who wants to ask questions and take a look around the jail, an issue that is to be looked at during the upcoming election in March.
Last year, the state of Arkansas deemed the jail as in violation of several regulations and ruled the jail would need to be shut down or completely renovated.
Now, it’s up to the voters to decide if they would like to pass a new sales tax to build a jail that would act as a law enforcement center.
Tours at the current facility will be on Friday from noon to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
