Morning House Fire in Harrison

HARRISON, Ark. – Firefighters are still on scene of a house fire in Harrison, across the street from Eagle Heights School.

According to Fire Chief Marvin Holt, his department responded to a report of smoke coming out of a house at 513 Chestnut Street, across from Eagle Heights Elementary School at about 9:30 this (Wednesday) morning. He says when firefighter arrived on scene, flames were showing in the back of the house.

He says firefighters fought back the flames and did a sweep of the interior in an attempt to locate the elderly homeowners, however, did not find anyone inside of the house. Holt says the couple that lives in the home is still unaccounted for.
City Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area around Eagle Heights Elementary School, until they clear the scene.

As of report time, the fire had not spread and no injuries were reported. We will be bringing you updated information with this story when we get it.
