SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A man from Springfield is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of his girlfriend Monday afternoon.
Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott says 37-year-old Carlton Wallace was arrested without incident after officers found 26-year-old Lindsay Arnold dead from a single gunshot wound.
Arnott says Wallace and Arnold lived together at a residence on East Farm Road 48, and deputies responded to that location several times in the past on various calls for service, including domestic disturbance.
The sheriff reports a six-year-old child residing at the home is in protective custody. He says detectives with his department were present during an autopsy yesterday morning, and the investigation is on going.
Wallace is jailed on 500-thousand dollars bond.
