GALENA, Mo. – Additional charges are filed against two teenagers accused of murdering a Michigan couple at a lake home in Lampe three years ago.
Nineteen-year-old Anthony Zarro and 18-year-old Christopher Allen are each charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, and one count of first-degree property damage. This after both pleaded guilty to previous burglary charges, prompting 10-year prison terms while they await trial for murder.
The new charges allege Zarro and Allen caused damage and stole property from the Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch, prior to running away from the facility, and breaking into a home occupied by 70-year-old Paul and 69-year-old Margaret Brooks – who were stabbed and beat to death, according to their autopsy reports.
Zarro and Allen were arrested at the scene, after being detained by a neighbor who called 911.
