BRANSON, Mo. – The Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex announces the end of an era with plans to update its 22-year-old projection system as part of its ongoing 1-point-7 million-dollar renovation to the IMAX Theatre.
On Sunday, January 17th, the Branson IMAX projected its final film on its 15/70 film projection system and closed the theater doors with the promise of a whole new cinematic experience to come.
This new IMAX next-generation technology, features a digital laser projection system, which will provide audiences with the sharpest, brightest, clearest, and most vivid digital images ever, combined with a whole new level of immersive audio, according to President of ITEC Attractions Randy Brashers:
The new system includes IMAX’s next-generation, 12 channel sound technology, which delivers even greater power and precision for the ultimate audio immersion.
The ongoing renovation also includes new premium seating options, including oversized, zero gravity electric recliners in the VIP section and high-back rockers and recliners for general admission seating.
The complex plans to have its completely updated IMAX Theatre reopened by mid-March.
