SHELL KNOB, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation presents a 100-thousand-dollar check to Gene Stimble of Stimble Enterprises for improvements made at the Campbell Point Marina in Shell Knob.

The check was presented on Tuesday, February 2nd, for construction completed by Campbell Point Marina, in partnership with MariCorp U.S., which meets the requirements of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Boating Infrastructure Grant program. The primary requirements of this program are to construct, renovate and maintain boating infrastructure tie-up facilities for vessels 26 feet or more in length.

This grant program is part the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Sport Fish Restoration Program. Through these improvements, the Campbell Point Marina is giving larger boats a place to tie up and properly dispose of waste materials, which will reduce the chance that they’ll be disposed of on the lake.

Campbell Point Marina is located in Stone County on the western part of Table Rock Lake.

  1. Campbell Point did do a nice job with their highly expensive new docks. But the last thing we need on Table Rock is more of these Coast Guard “Documented” battleships that avoid paying local Personal Property taxes and cruise around swamping family fishing boats with their huge wakes that damage lesser docks and erode shorelines. Let those people and their oversized ‘battleships in a bathtub” stay on Lake of the Ozarks. People come here to get away from those things and the irresponsible wakes they generate.
