HOLLISTER, Mo. – The City of Hollister is hosting an open house next Wednesday, February 17th, to discuss plans for the new State Highway BB sidewalk.
City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss shares that in recent years the safety of the students and community members who walk along Highway BB have become a concern of the city.
After multiple attempts to secure state or federal grants, the city finally received an 80-percent grant in the amount of 220-thousand-dollars last year. Ziegenfuss says this project will mean some easements will have to be made across a few people’s properties:
Ziegenfuss says the Hollister School District and the city are each pitching in approximately 20-thousand dollars themselves to cover the remaining 20-percent of the project. The open house is being held in the High School Commons Area from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
