JASPER, Ark. – The Newton County Sheriff’s Department releases information on an arrest on Friday, where officers seize drugs and guns.

According to the release, the Jasper Chief of Police, Buckie Thomas responded to Harp’s parking lot at 3:46 p.m. where there was a report of a drunk man with a handgun sitting in a car. Authorities say that’s where they located 37-year-old James Henderson and 38-year-old Charles Seagraves.

Henderson is the man who was arrested on Christmas for shooting at two men on ATV’s, according to the report.

Officers say they found Henderson to be intoxicated and in possession of a gun, a knife, and drug paraphernalia. Seagraves had a warrant out for his arrest and officers say he was in possession of several different kinds of drugs. Both were arrested on the scene.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Department says the Arkansas State Police and the local Drug Task Force helped with the arrests.
Both men are currently being held in the Newton County jail awaiting formal charges.
