Crews Battle Second Alarm Brush Fire near Reeds Spring

REEDS SPRING, Mo. – Southern Stone County firefighters battle a brush fire that spread from an unattended burn pile to approximately 20 acres west of Reeds Spring.

Public Information Officer Eric Nielsen says the fire spread quickly due to dry conditions and high winds, prompting a second alarm for additional units…

While firefighters were still working to contain the blaze Saturday afternoon, crews were asked to provide mutual aid to the Highlandville Fire Department in another natural cover fire off Highway 176.

Nielsen says while the fire district has not issued an official burn ban for the area, residents are asked to use caution if they plan to do any outdoor burning…



About a dozen firefighters responded to the home near Highway 76 and Y Highway, along with four brush trucks, one fire engine, two chiefs and a support unit.
