BRANSON, Mo. – For the first time ever the Mid-American Emmys are being held in Branson.

This morning the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced its 40th Anniversary Mid-American Emmys will be held on October 1, 2016 at the Branson Convention Center.

In previous years the Emmy’s have been held in either Kansas City, or as in this year’s case, St. Louis. Silver Dollar City Public Relations Director Lisa Rau says it’s very significant for Branson to host such an event:

2016 will mark the third year Silver Dollar City and the City of Branson have been involved in sponsoring the Mid-American Emmys. The Mid-America chapter includes the television markets primarily in Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois.

The 2015 Mid-American Emmy’s are being hosted at the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel on October 3.
