Firefighters from Western Taney County and Southern Stone County battle a residential structure fire early this (Wednesday) morning at Ridgedale near the Long Creek Bridge.

Since there are no hydrants in that area, the initial water supply was provided by tankers until a 5-foot supply was laid down to Table Rock Lake where Western Fire Boat 1 pumped water to a fire engine.

Fire Chief Chris Berndt says the residents on Bridgeview Drive barely escaped, and fortunately no one was injured…

A total of 21 firefighters were on scene for approximately 5 hours to completely extinguish the fire. A state fire marshal was called in to help determine the cause of the fire.

Berndt says due to the damage, it is impossible to come up with an exact cause, however it appears the fire started on one of the upper floors of the home.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
