Missouri hunters check a total of 167-thousand 205 deer during the 11-day firearms deer season, which ended Tuesday.
The number exceeds last year’s total by nearly 10-thousand.
The Missouri Department of Conservation reports the top harvest counties as Howell, Franklin and Texas.
Twenty-three days of firearms deer hunting remain in the antlerless, alternative-methods and late youth categories.
Archery deer season runs through January 15th.
