McKelvey says the thermal imaging camera will assist with internal and external search and rescue operations, as well as locating fires and hidden fires within a structure.
The Oak Grove department covers 99 square miles and currently has a staff of 18 firefighters.
The expenditure of approximately $3,500 was approved by the Oak Grove City Council.
