Sherrell Wins Tight Runoff for Harrison Mayor

thumb_2a541d5891e602cHARRISON Ark.- Even though he didn’t get as many votes as his opponent on election day, Dan Sherrell is elected as the next Mayor of Harrison.

Sherrell defeated Jerry Jackson in the runoff election for Harrison Mayor by 37 votes on Tuesday night. But it was Jackson who earned one more vote than Sherrell on election day by a count of 232 votes to 231.

Sherrell ultimately won the election in the early voting period, where he grabbed 957 votes compared to Jackson’s 919 votes.


That was Harrison Mayor Elect Dan Sherrell talking after his victory on Tuesday night. Jackson was not available for comment.

The unofficial results show Sherrell winning by a total of 1,188 votes and Jackson with 1,151 votes.
