Students Participate in Business Competition

thumb_a142a46f8335853HARRISON, Ark. – Hundreds of area high school and middle school students compete in an event to present a simulated business plan to business professionals.

Students from Alpena, Bruno-Pyatt, Harrison, Kingston, St. Joe, Valley Springs, and Western Grove participated in the Business Opportunities for Success otherwise known as BOSS.

Each team created a cell phone manufacturing business and competed in several categories including overall profits and a stockholders presentation.

Alpena Middle School won two first place and one second place awards, St. Joe Middle School won two second-place awards, Valley Springs High School took home a second place award, while the middle school earned three first-place awards, and Western Grove Middle School earned three first-place awards.

The BOSS event was hosted by North Arkansas College and Ozark Unlimited Resource Educational Serve Cooperative.
