The College of the Ozarks Ralph Foster Museum will host the White River Painting Exhibit and sale Nov. 13 – Dec. 19. The Museum hosts the annual exhibit to celebrate the unique Ozarks heritage and express the Museum’s continued mission of providing rich learning experiences about Ozarks culture through the arts.
Nick Nelson, director of Springfield Art Museum, will serve as this year’s juror. Nelson earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Georgia Southwestern University and his Master of Fine Arts at Georgia Southern University. He then taught at Georgia Southern University as an assistant professor. Nelson has served at Albany Art Museum as curator of education and executive director before leaving to become the director of the Springfield Art Museum.
An opening reception to celebrate this special exhibit will take place Nov.13, 2-4:30 p.m. in Edwards Art Gallery at the Ralph Foster Museum. Monetary awards will be given to the top three, as well as for honorable mentions, and many of the paintings will be for sale. Ralph Foster Museum is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and admission prices are $6 for adults, $5 for senior adults (65 and older), $4 for Veterans, and free for high school age and under.
