The Missouri Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Daniel Jones was following a southbound car driven by 34-year-old John Rolf of Nixa in the passing lane of eastbound 160 at 5 p.m. Monday. A pickup traveling beside Rolf’s car slowed for congestion and Jones’ car reportedly failed to stop in time and struck the car.
Jones then drove off the left side of the road, crossed the median and traveled into the westbound lanes, where his car came to rest. After the initial impact, Rolf reportedly spun into the driving lane and struck a towed unit behind the pickup, driven by 29-year-old Jacob Webster of Nixa.
Jones was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment of moderate injuries. The other drivers were not injured, according to the report
