Missouri Governor Jay Nixon commends students, parents and staff at Spokane High School for achieving academic excellence, including designation as a Blue Ribbon School by the U-S Department of Education.
Spokane High is one of only 286 schools nationwide to receive the award for 2013. During a visit to the school on Wednesday, Nixon stated the academic achievements of Spokane students are a shining example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together to make education a priority.
Nixon points out that Spokane students scored 94-point-3 percent on the 2014 MSIP performance report, and the school district has a high percentage of graduates going on to college.
